In an alternate universe my children would treat me like a human being, like I was their father, like I committed 30 years of my life for their human development. Their spouses would be allowed to come to their own conclusions about me instead of being forced to adopt someone else’s conclusions. In an alternate universe, my children and their spouses would embrace their Catholic faith instead of behaving under the direction of a dark and sinister force.
